Softball Recap: Goodland Comes Up Short

The Cowboys came up short against the Russell Broncos on Thursday, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cowboys have suffered against the Broncos since April 13, 2021.

Goodland saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elly Evert, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Goodland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Russell, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Goodland beat the Broncos by a score of 8-4 later that day.
