Baseball Recap: La Serna Find Success

La Serna let Santa Fe stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Friday but luckily La Serna prevailed anyway. The Lancers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Chiefs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lancers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Grady Long looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Dominic Segura was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Soto, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

La Serna's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Santa Fe, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

La Serna didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against El Rancho on the 9th. As for Santa Fe, they have also already played their next game, a 4-3 defeat against California on the 9th.
