Fernley proved they can win big on Friday (they won by three) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Spring Creek Spartans 3-2. The Vaqueros haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Fernley took Spring Creek into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-17, 20-25, 22-25, 15-11.

Trista Menesini paced Fernley's offense, picking up 16 kills. Menesini got some help from Alauna Escartin and her 24 assists. Lillianna Young controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Fernley's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Spring Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fernley will challenge rival Dayton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Spring Creek is set to face off against their familiar foe Churchill County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
