Softball Recap: Agoura Comes Up Short

Agoura dropped their record down to 14-11 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Oaks Christian Lions, falling 14-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Chargers have suffered against the Lions since April 7, 2022.

Agoura saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordy Charash, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Oaks Christian, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Oaks Christian's side, Sophia Debs was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Debs was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, Oaks Christian let Gianna Garcia and Giabella Otani run wild. Garcia got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Otani went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Otani is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrianna Kelley, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Agoura will square off against rival Thousand Oaks at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Oaks Christian is set to challenge their familiar foe Calabasas at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
