Football Recap: Granbury Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Granbury had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 30-6 margin over the Waco Lions. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Granbury, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Bryson Hager, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Waco lost, don't look at BRYANT WHITAKER JR.. Despite the final result, he rushed for 93 yards on only seven carries, and also threw for 142 yards and one TD on only 13 passes.

Looking ahead, Granbury will square off against University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Waco, they will challenge Corsicana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
