Football Recap: Loranger Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Loranger gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 47-19 win over the Independence Tigers. The Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Rylan James had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 246 yards and five TDs while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Roman James was another key back, rushing for 84 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Loranger was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 332 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Independence only rushed for 120 rushing yards.

Despite the loss, Independence still got an impressive performance from Je'Marcus Weatherspoon, who rushed for 20 yards and one score, and also threw for 78 yards and one TD.

Loranger didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 31-7 victory against St. Thomas Aquinas on the 12th. As for Independence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 44-19 loss against Pine on the 12th.
