The Blanchester Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Shawnee Braves at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Blanchester will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Georgetown, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wildcats put the hurt on the G-Men with a sharp 19-2 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
Reece Ledford made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Ledford was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Riley Binkley was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lilly Bates, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Blanchester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Shawnee had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let Madison get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. The Braves' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last five contests.
Shawnee also got a great performance from Alee Trimmer as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Trimmer has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 16 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Emma George was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Lilly Adams was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Shawnee pushed their record up to 23-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Blanchester, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.
Both Blanchester and Shawnee just can't seem to miss. The Wildcats have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Shawnee struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits.
