Baseball Recap: Kankakee Comes Up Short

Kankakee lost against Clifton Central on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Kays came up short against the Comets, falling 7-1. The Kays' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Alexander Grill was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

Kankakee's defeat dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Clifton Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kankakee will host Coal City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Kays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Coalers have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Clifton Central, they will be playing at home against Paxton-Buckley-Loda at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
