Ava Karinattu was a standout: she scored three runs while going 4-for-5. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Mia Farber was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
Pine Crest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy waltzed into their match last Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Blazers get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The Eagles' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.
Gabriella Bird was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bird was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
In other batting news, Calvary Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Sofia Fine, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Parker Lee, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Pine Crest's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pine Crest has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 11 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Calvary Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
