Basketball Recap: Martinsville Comes Up Short

Martinsville and Chatham squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Martinsville had to settle for second. They fell 39-28 to the Chatham Cavaliers. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cavaliers from their previous meeting back in February of 2023.

Jakiyah Giggetts continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chatham, putting up 25 points.

Martinsville's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Chatham, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Martinsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chatham, they will face off against James River on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with James River sitting on four straight victories and Chatham on seven.
