Baseball Game Preview: Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders vs. Glidden-Ralston Wildcats

Coon Rapids-Bayard is a perfect 10-0 against Glidden-Ralston since July of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Crusaders will welcome the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Coon Rapids-Bayard is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Coon Rapids-Bayard barely beat Boyer Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Crusaders' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 12-0 shutout on Friday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glidden-Ralston). They were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over Exira-EHK on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Coon Rapids-Bayard's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Glidden-Ralston, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.

Everything went Coon Rapids-Bayard's way against Glidden-Ralston in their previous meeting back in June of 2024, as Coon Rapids-Bayard made off with a 16-0 win. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
