Baseball Recap: La Jolla Finds Home Field Redemption Against Mission Bay

There's no place like home for La Jolla, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Mission Bay Buccaneers 3-2 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Buccaneers on Monday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Charlie Smith tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryan Kestler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

The victory got La Jolla back to even at 9-9. As for Mission Bay, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4.

Coincidentally, La Jolla and Mission Bay will both be playing San Diego the next time they take the field. The Vikings will head out to face the Cavers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Buccaneers will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
