Recap: McLean Highlanders vs. Wakefield Warriors
The McLean Highlanders won the last time they faced the Wakefield Warriors, and things went their way on Friday too. McLean skirted past Wakefield 14-11. Given McLean's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Wakefield is ranked 261st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McLean's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaelan Ferris led the charge by rushing for 151 yards, while also catching a touchdown.
McLean's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Wakefield, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McLean will take on Langley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Robert Roncskevitz and Ferris. As for Wakefield, they will head out on the road to face off against Washington-Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington-Liberty will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
