Basketball Recap: Salesian Starts Season with Win Against Sotomayor

Salesian took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They blew past the Sotomayor Wolves 83-31. The Mustangs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since December 3, 2024 (when they won 87-17).

When it comes to explaining why Sotomayor lost, don't look at Fernando Urieta. Despite the final result, he shot 63% from the field to rack up 13 points.

Sotomayor's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Salesian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-48 defeat against Marshall on the 19th. As for Sotomayor, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-34 loss against Bell on the 18th.
