League recap: Justiniano overpowering for Clemente in past week

Clemente's Anthony Justiniano was the best pitcher in Chicago Public - Jackie Robinson North this week. He picked up one win and 15 strikeouts.

Top honors in the league this week go to Taft, which finished with two wins overall, good for best in the league. The Eagles beat Evanston 7-0.

The Wildcats' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing six hits and three walks to lead the league in both categories.

Jerimiah Figueroa's .429 batting average (3-for-7) for Clemente was the best in the league this week. For the season, he's hitting .284, good for sixth in the league. Figueroa has accumulated 29 base knocks this year so far.

The Wildcats' Justiniano led the league in strikeouts this week with 15. He's first in the league with 87 total strikeouts.



Clemente's Justiniano struck out 15 Chicago Bulls College Prep hitters en route to a 9-1 victory on May 22. Over seven innings of work, he gave up one hit and one run.
