Basketball Recap: Austin Broder Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ingleside

Rockport-Fulton lost to Ingleside back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Rockport-Fulton Pirates put the hurt on the Ingleside Mustangs with a sharp 60-39 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Pirates have posted against the Mustangs since January 13, 2021.

Rockport-Fulton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Broder, who went 5 for 6 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds. Those 13 points gave Broder a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson King, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Rockport-Fulton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Ingleside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-8.

Rockport-Fulton will take on Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ingleside, they will square off against Jones at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jones knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Ingleside likes a good challenge.
