Soccer Game Preview: Capistrano Valley vs. Aliso Niguel

The Capistrano Valley Cougars will square off against the Aliso Niguel Wolverines at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Capistrano Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Friday, Capistrano Valley didn't have quite enough to beat San Juan Hills and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 568th, while the Stallions are ranked 71st).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Aliso Niguel, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let Mission Viejo onto the board and left with a 2-0 win on Friday.

The victory got Aliso Niguel back to even at 4-4-6. As for Capistrano Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-3.
