Softball Recap: Davis Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Davis extended their winning streak to eight on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 13-6 in the process. They blew past the Logan Grizzlies 10-4. The result was nothing new for the Darts, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Davis got a massive performance out of Riley Jaques, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Jaques has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jewel Korth, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Davis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive games.

As for Logan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly six runs.

On Logan's side, Kiki Laing and Rachel Porter did some serious damage despite the final result: Laing went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Porter went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Coming up, Davis will square off against Farmington at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Darts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Phoenix have averaged an impressive 12.1 runs per game this season. As for Logan, they will head out on the road to challenge Syracuse at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
