Softball Recap: Pendleton County Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pendleton County waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Tucker County Mountain Lions 16-1. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcat, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Susan Vincell made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Jessica Parker was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Molly Rowe also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Pendleton County's record is now 7-3. As for Tucker County, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Pendleton County will face off against Tygarts Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tucker County, they will square off against Preston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
