Volleyball Recap: New Albany Bulldogs vs. Trinity Lutheran Cougars

After flying high against Salem on Wednesday, New Albany came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Trinity Lutheran Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

New Albany took Trinity Lutheran into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-16, 25-20, 18-25, 15-9.

Callie Loesch paced New Albany's offense, picking up 25 kills. Loesch got some help from Addi Vaughn and her 30 assists. Kinley Bush controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Trinity Lutheran to victory were Madelyn Adams and Emerson Warren. Adams had ten digs and four aces, while Warren had eight kills and four digs. That's the most digs Adams has posted over her last nine matchups. Bailey Bonde also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

New Albany moved to 18-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Trinity Lutheran, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11.
