After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Benton brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They blew past the Eldorado Eagles 15-8 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Peyton Robinson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Grant Owens was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Clay Gage, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Benton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

The win got Benton back to even at 4-4. As for Eldorado, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Benton will head out to square off against Marshall County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Eldorado, they will welcome Webber at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
