Basketball Game Preview: Sully Buttes Chargers vs. Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds

The Sully Buttes Chargers and the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds will round out the year against one another at at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. Sully Buttes will be strutting in after a win while Wolsey-Wessington will be coming in after a defeat.

Sully Buttes took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 51-43 victory over Herreid/Selby.

Meanwhile, Wolsey-Wessington was not able to break out of their rough patch last Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against DeSmet, falling 61-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warbirds have suffered against the Bulldogs since December 11, 2017.

The win got Sully Buttes back to even at 2-2. As for Wolsey-Wessington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Sully Buttes didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Wolsey-Wessington in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 46-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sully Buttes since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
