Baseball Recap: Kennett Comes Up Short

Kennett was the 11-3 winner over Dyer County when they last played one another back in March of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell just short of the Choctaws by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The Indians' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Kennett saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Gilmore, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. John Baker Brown also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Kennett now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Dyer County, they pushed their record up to 13-9-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Looking ahead, Kennett will challenge Notre Dame at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Dyer County, they will take on South Gibson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Choctaws surely won't give up without a fight.
