Crete had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Gering Bulldogs with a sharp 10-2 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cardinals as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Madynn Dunham made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Dunham was even better at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and a triple.

In other batting news, Kacey Dunaway was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Van Horn, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Gering is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
