After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Leadership Academy, Atkins was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles with a sharp 14-5 victory. The Camels haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Jaidyn Mayhue, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Alejandra Scruggs, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Atkins picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Ben L. Smith, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
