Basketball Recap: Holly Grove Christian Has No Trouble Against Faith Baptist School

It was a Battle of the Birds when Holly Grove Christian duked it out withFaith Baptist School on Tuesday. The Holly Grove Christian Eagles blew past the Faith Baptist School Falcons 44-23. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

Cate Sterling was a one-woman wrecking crew for Holly Grove Christian as she went 9 for 21 en route to 26 points and three blocks. Kamryn Salvas was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Holly Grove Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Faith Baptist School only pulled down four offensive boards.

Despite the loss, Faith Baptist School still got an impressive performance from Kiersten Yates HS, who posted four points and five boards.

Holly Grove Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.2 points per game. As for Faith Baptist School, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Holly Grove Christian will challenge Chincoteague at 4:30 p.m. on February 5th. As for Faith Baptist School, they will square off against Fairwinds Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
