Football Recap: Sierra Vista Comes Up Short

Sierra Vista extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They lost to the Ontario Jaguars at home by a 49-31 margin. The Dons were down 35-15 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

As for Ontario, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points over those games.

Samuel Abajuo was his usual excellent self, rushing for 129 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Andrew Wilson was another key back, rushing for 100 yards and one TD.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra Vista will host Nogales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ontario, they will be playing at home against Pomona at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars will be up against the Red Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
