Basketball Recap: Touchet Falls to Riverside Christian in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Touchet unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 66-65 to the Riverside Christian Crusaders. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 14 in a row.

Despite the loss, Touchet still got an impressive performance from Aylen Garnett, who dropped a triple-double with 41 points, 13 rebounds, and ten steals. Kyler Pumphrey was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.

Riverside Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Micah Morgan, who went 9-for-18 en route to 25 points and three steals. What's more, Morgan also posted a 40% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Waylon Johnson, who posted 15 points and six rebounds.

Riverside Christian has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Touchet has already played their next contest, a 69-46 victory against Griswold on the 6th. As for Riverside Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-48 win against Walla Walla Valley Academy on the 9th.
