Softball Recap: Warren Comes Up Short

Warren was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Athens Bulldogs. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Gracie Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Warren saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lila Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Smith has hit this season.

Warren's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Athens, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Coming up, Warren will square off against Fort Frye at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Athens, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Philo at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
