After a string of six wins, Virgin Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 3-1 to the Las Vegas Wildcats. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

Virgin Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-19.

Mady Wright paced Virgin Valley's offense, picking up 11 kills. Wright got some help from Mayzie Tobler and her 33 assists. Finally, Hayden Owsley kept Virgin Valley's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Las Vegas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Millie Mangum, who had 18 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Mangum has posted since back in August.

Virgin Valley's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Las Vegas, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Virgin Valley will host Cristo Rey St. Viator at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Las Vegas, they will head out on the road to square off against Mojave at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
