Basketball Recap: Wilson Piles Up the Points Against Spruce

Wilson won the last time they faced Spruce and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wilson Wildcats breezed by the Spruce Timberwolves to the tune of 73-30. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 1326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wilson was led to victory by Michael Best and Noah Armstrong. Best went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points, while Armstrong posted ten points and four steals. Best is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Luke Walsh was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

The win made it two in a row for Wilson and bumps their season record up to 16-14. As for Spruce, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-19.

Wilson will head out on the road to square off against Poteet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season. Spruce has already played their next matchup (against Seagoville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
