Basketball Game Preview: Pine Forest Eagles vs. Choctawhatchee Indians

The Pine Forest Eagles will take on the Choctawhatchee Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Friday, Pine Forest came up short against Booker T. Washington and fell 61-53. The Eagles have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Za'Khiya Shaw-Rease, who went 6 for 9 on her way to 12 points. Those 12 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chrisshona Bargaineer, who posted 13 points.

Meanwhile, Choctawhatchee earned a 42-31 win over Bay on Friday. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Tornadoes are ranked 288th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pine Forest's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Choctawhatchee, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.
