Basketball Recap: Flour Bluff Wins Going Away Against Miller

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, Flour Bluff was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-42 victory over the Miller Buccaneers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-42 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Miller still got an impressive performance from George Simmons, who went 8 of 20 en route to 23 points and five boards. Simmons has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Corey Holmes, who posted five points and seven rebounds.

Flour Bluff is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 16-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Miller, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Flour Bluff will head out on the road to face off against Ray at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
