Baseball Recap: South San Antonio Takes a Loss

After flying high against Taft last Tuesday, South San Antonio came back down to earth. South San Antonio fell just short of the MacArthur Brahmas by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Bobcats' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

South San Antonio got a good showing from Felix Ramirez, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, South San Antonio saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Reyna, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

South San Antonio's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for MacArthur, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South San Antonio will challenge Harlandale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last five games Harlandale has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for MacArthur, they will square off against Sinton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (MacArthur 3.6, Sinton 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
