Basketball Recap: Jamil Gonzalez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cliffside Park over Saddle River Day

Cliffside Park lost against Saddle River Day back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cliffside Park Raiders took a 49-33 bruising from the Saddle River Day Rebels. The contest marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Cliffside Park lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jamil Gonzalez, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Thomas Calabrese, who put up seven points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Cliffside Park has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for Saddle River Day, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-7 record.

Cliffside Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-53 defeat against Ridgefield Memorial on the 24th. Saddle River Day has also already played their next contest, a 63-43 loss against Rutgers Prep on the 25th.
