Volleyball Recap: Lamar Takes Down Jefferson Academy in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lamar walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Jefferson Academy Jaguars 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thunder have posted since September 11th.

Keiton Chavira was nothing short of spectacular: she had 41 digs and one assist. Those 41 digs gave her a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Jefferson Academy had strong showings from Tailey Sengdara, who had 15 digs and two aces, and Ravel LaBerge, who had four digs and two aces.

Lamar has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Jefferson Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-17.

Lamar didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Sterling on the 7th. Jefferson Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
