Basketball Recap: Windermere Takes a Loss

Windermere was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by the Foundation Academy Lions 60-25. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while the Lions are ranked 126th).

Foundation Academy was led to victory by Emma Parker and Anai Braxton. Parker posted 13 points in addition to six assists and six boards, while Braxton went 5-for-6 en route to 14 points. The dominant performance also gave Braxton a new career-high in shooting accuracy (83%). Another player making a difference was Sophia Rodriguez, who had seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Windermere's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Foundation Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Windermere and Boone will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Foundation Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
