            Football Recap: Plattsburgh Hornets vs. Saranac Lake Red Storm        
        
		
        
        
            Plattsburgh was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They took  a  25-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saranac Lake Red Storm. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in October of 2024.
Despite the loss, Plattsburgh still got an impressive performance from   Ryan Colburn, who picked up 137 receiving yards and one  TD.  Jo Jo Wineglass was in the mix  as well, providing the Hornets with one score.
 Plattsburgh didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Colburn and  Colden Johnson. Plattsburgh received some extra help from  Wineglass, whose fumble return for a touchdown  made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Plattsburgh's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Saranac Lake, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.
 Coming up, Plattsburgh will head out on the road to  challenge  Saranac  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Spartans will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more  points each  contest than the last. As for Saranac Lake, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Peru  at 7:00  p.m. The Red Storm will need to watch out since the Nighthawks have now posted at least 31  points  every time they've taken the field this season.
