Coeur d'Alene came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Post Falls Trojans with a sharp 9-1 win. Considering the Vikings have won five games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Tyler Voorhees was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Gavin Helms was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Harrison Trunkey-Evans, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Coeur d'Alene's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Post Falls, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

The teams wasted no time getting back out on the field as they've already faced off again: they played to a 6-6 draw later that day.
