Basketball Recap: Lexington Griffin Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ridgeway

University not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since January 7th (when they won 58-32). They put the hurt on the Ridgeway Roadrunners with a sharp 66-42 victory. The Tigers pushed the score to 54-32 by the end of the third, a deficit the Roadrunners had little chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead University to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lexington Griffin, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 17 points. That's the most points Griffin has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Larry 'Trey' Sims, who shot 78% from the field to rack up 16 points and seven boards.

University has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 66.5 points this season. As for Ridgeway, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3.

University has already played their next game, a 64-45 victory against Memphis Rise Academy on the 4th. As for Ridgeway, they will take on Southwind at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Roadrunners will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
