Softball Recap: Troy Christian Comes Up Short

Troy Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 10-1 to the Lehman Catholic Cavaliers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 back in April.

Ella Dersham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and seven unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Troy Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Guerrero, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Troy Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Lehman Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 3-11.

Troy Christian has already played their next matchup, a 15-2 defeat against Preble Shawnee on the 10th. Lehman Catholic has also already played their next contest (against Sidney), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
