It was a good run, but Community Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots by a score of 2-1. The Warriors were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matchups prior), but the Patriots' pitchers proved too tough.

Community Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Community Christian Academy will host Christian Family Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Fire have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they will welcome Bradford Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
