Basketball Recap: Herscher Takes a Loss

Herscher was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 42-24 fall against the Reed-Custer Comets. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Comets earlier this season, when they won 34-28.

Reed-Custer found their leader in sophomore Harlie Liebermann, who went 6 for 9 en route to 16 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Liebermann a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Wollenzien, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Herscher's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Reed-Custer, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-13.

Herscher has already played their next contest (against Coal City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Reed-Custer will be playing at home against Peotone at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
