Volleyball Recap: Newcomerstown Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

Newcomerstown's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Malvern Hornets by a score of 3-1. The game was the first time the Trojans have beaten the Hornets on their court since September 25, 2021.

The final score came out to 26-16, 25-14, 19-25, 28-26.

Makayla McConnell was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 14 digs. Those 14 digs gave her a new career-high.

Newcomerstown pushed their record up to 5-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Malvern, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Newcomerstown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Strasburg-Franklin on the 13th. As for Malvern, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against East Canton on the 16th.
