Recap: Plano East Panthers vs. Marcus Marauders
There's no place like home for The Plano East Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 30-18 victory over Marcus on Friday. The victory was just what Plano East needed coming off of a 26-3 loss in their prior contest.
Plano East's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaylon Hatcher, who picked up 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Jackson Hays was another key contributor, throwing for 181 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes.
Despite the loss, Marcus still got an impressive performance from Rhett Garza, who picked up 154 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Plano East's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.2 points per game. As for Marcus, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plano East will face off against Prosper at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Prosper is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games. As for Marcus, they will head out on the road to face off against McKinney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
