Football Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Riverview

Riverview extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 6-3. They came out on top against the Bloomingdale Bulls by a score of 20-13. The Sharks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulls, too.

Riverview found their leader in sophomore Carter Peternell, who rushed for 61 yards and one score on only seven carries, and also threw for 102 yards while completing 75% of his passes.

As for Bloomingdale, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6. Despite 68 more yards than Riverview, the Bulls couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Bloomingdale's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sammy Zelaya, who rushed for 55 yards and one touchdown, and Preston Beckham, who gained 147 total yards and a touchdown. Beckham showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 55 yards.

Looking ahead, Riverview is taking a road trip to challenge Armwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Sharks' defense better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 43.8 points per game this season. As for Bloomingdale, they will welcome Strawberry Crest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
