Basketball Game Preview: Cass Tech Technicians vs. Pershing Doughboys

After both having extra time off, the Cass Tech Technicians and the Pershing Doughboys will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cass Tech comes in on three and Pershing on four.

Last Friday, Cass Tech was able to grind out a solid win over Grand Blanc, taking the game 56-45.

Meanwhile, Pershing strolled past Center Line with points to spare last Friday, taking the game 43-28. The 43-point effort marked the Doughboys' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Pershing's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for Cass Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Cass Tech against Pershing in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured an 83-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cass Tech since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
