Basketball Game Preview: Holdenville Wolverines vs. Luther Lions

The Holdenville Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the Luther Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Holdenville is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Okemah on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Holdenville lost 53-31 to Okemah. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Panthers are ranked 19th).

Dah?Myah Olden put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Princess Oneill, who scored seven points.

Meanwhile, Luther was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 97-13 defeat at the hands of Community Christian.

Luther's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Holdenville, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 7-4.
