Softball Recap: Kimball's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Kimball dropped their record down to 13-7 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Lodi Flames, falling 9-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flames this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 last Wednesday.

Kaeliana DePerio made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Lodi, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

On Lodi's side, Ashlyn Jubrey made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Jubrey has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Lodi got a big performance out of Taylor Blank, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Bailey Nelson, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Kimball wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-8 loss against St. Francis on the 24th. As for Lodi, they have also already played their next match, a 1-0 defeat against Tracy on the 28th.
