Young Women's Leadership Academy can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 42-31 win over the Great Hearts Northern Oaks Griffins. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Griffins back in January, they had to take a 45-43 loss.

Despite the defeat, Great Hearts Northern Oaks saw an underclassman step up: freshman DeLaney Paulos posted 16 points. That was a full 51.6% of Great Hearts Northern Oaks' points, marking the eighth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Young Women's Leadership Academy's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 5-23. As for Great Hearts Northern Oaks, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
